After the worst trip for many a year from Southampton to Rugby, we arrived for a two day break in Rugby. We booked in at the Diamond House Hotel through the internet as their prices were very competitive and the room options suited are needs.

.A single room for my daughter and a three bed room for my wife and I and our youngest. Other options are available for 2, 3 or 4 person occupancy. We arrived at the hotel not knowing what to expect. Normally we would stay at the Hilton or Marriott, but these options are not available in Rugby. The big question was did we make the right choice. Well YES.

This privately run licensed hotel provides you with optimun customer service. Nothing appears to be too much trouble. Both the rooms we had booked were well furnished (TV in each room), clean, spacious and en suite. The only real down side to the room was the small size of the bathroom, although not really a major problem. The hotel has a nicely furnished TV lounge and also a bar that doubles up as a reception area. Not a great variety of drinks, but certainly enough to have a drink before hitting Rugby town or for a quick nightcap on your return.

Another good point was the drink prices Coke, Lemonade ETC £0.50, Stella £2.40 a pint can’t be bad. The price of £38 per person per night includes a full breakfast. Start with fruit juice, then cereal. Then bacon, eggs, sausage and beans with tea, coffee and toast. Again the customer service was excellent with all hot dishes cooked to order. Unlike a lot of the larger hotels your breakfast was bought to you, not the buffet option used by many major chains. Would we use this hotel again? Well yes as long as the management does not change
